Designer Amber Jewelry from Ambermoda

From the fashion runways of Europe explodes a bright new star of modern amber jewelry design--Danuta and Mariusz Gliwinski. This husband-wife design team and their company Ambermoda hail from Poland, home of the world's most beautiful natural gemstone, Baltic amber. Danuta selects and prepares the best amber pieces, while her husband Mariusz, a self-taught silversmith, designs dramatic sterling silver settings for them. Their award-winning work has made headlines from Warsaw to Brussels, to Budapest, to St. Petersburg. Together they have broken out of the traditional mold of baroque style jewelry to create a fresh new way of experiencing amber. I'm thrilled to be able to share the work of these avant-garde designers with you.

In each of these pieces, the amber is set into a heavy silver frame which is textured and patinated on the inside, and highly polished on the exterior (see closeup photo at right). Either click on the links below or use your mouse to leisurely scroll through this page....

Pin/Pendants      Amber Info

Large Amber Pin/Pendants

These magnificent pieces each have a pin back, but also have two strong silver rings in back so that the piece can be worn as a pendant (see photo at right). You can either use your own cord or chain, or I can make you a neck cord of round black leather with a sterling silver close. (To order a leather necklace, sold separately, see below).

This piece seems to capture a light-filled explosion within a mountainside. Fossilized bark is left at the top of the piece, adding greatly to the design. One of a kind. Click on photo to enlarge.

2- 1/8" tall x 1- 5/8" wide

Amber Pin/Pendant  AMPP-1 $160.00

A smooth arc of dark-honey-colored amber is alight with golden discs. One of a kind. Click on photo to enlarge.

1- 5/8" tall x 2" wide

Amber Pin/Pendant   AMPP-2   $150.00

This is probably the most intriguing of all the pieces, because of two smooth circular indentations in the amber, of mysterious and ancient origin. They enliven the design, and are surrounded by a cloud of tiny explosions, like sparkling confetti. One of a kind.     1- 3/8" tall x 1- 3/4" wide

Amber Pin/Pendant  AMPP-4  $115.00

The bark left on this piece by the artists gives it the appearance of a mountaintop, with spangles of golden exploded amber crowded beneath. One of a kind. Click on photo to enlarge.

1- 3/4" square

Amber Pin/Pendant   AMPP-5  $142.00  Sorry, Sold!

Amber Necklaces  sorry, sold out!

Each of these amber necklaces comes complete with an 18" black leather neck cord with a heavy sterling lobster-claw clasp. Your choice, $105.00 each. Click on a photo to enlarge. Every effort has been made to match the color of these pieces exactly, but one thing is for certain--the photos don't do them justice.

Please note: As these are unique pieces, only one of each is available.

More Info About These Pieces

The amber in these pieces is genuine Baltic amber, which is really fossilized tree resin, about 40 million years old. The shimmering gold discs within the amber are tiny explosions of chemicals trapped within the amber itself. As you move, the discs catch the light and provide constant interest. Many of the pieces still have accents of rough brown bark from ancient trees, incorporated into the design by the artists as an expression of each piece's unique character.

Each of the above items comes in its own gold gift box.
