Chesterfield Jasper
(Polychrome Jasper)

This is the name that I gave to these handsome stones in charcoal gray, tan, and brown that are really a masculine color morph of Polychrome Jasper, a stone that comes in a huge color range. I think that these would be ideally suited for masculine jewelry, or any classic jewelry design. These are polished both front and back.

White Plume Agate Doublets

If you saw a slab of white plume agate at a rock shop, you'd probably pass it by--It looks like a mottled whitish mass. But in the hands of master gem cutter Keith Horst, a miracle is wrought: By cutting super-thin slices of the stone, Keith uncovers its transparency and astounding depth of imagery. Then he permanently attaches each slice to black agate and the images burst forth in vivid relief. The slicing, cutting, shaping, and polishing are highly labor-intensive, ensuring that Keith won't be doing a whole lot of these, so if you choose one of these, you'll be getting a rare and unusual stone! Be sure to click on photos to get a closer look at these!

Utah Wonderstone

Lapidarist Gary Wilson was selling these, and their bold designs were visible a block away. What a neat stone! I made sure to pick up some with a matte finish, in addition to the polished ones. All have satin-finish backs.

Picasso Marble

Utah is such a beautiful state. And it's home to really cool rocks as well, among them, this marvelous Picasso Marble. I've searched for the most picturesque and interesting pieces for you. Some are wintery landscapes, while others are beautiful abstractions...Sometimes just turning the stone changes the image and the feel of the piece.  Satin-finish backs.

Jaguar Agate

This is a really neat stone: Clumps of black dendrites are sprinkled throughout a rich caramel background with touches of white here and there, exactly like a jaguar's coat. Some of the pieces have pockets of druzy crystals. All but one are highly polished on both sides. Click on photos to see details.

Midnight Mosaic

"Midnight Mosaic" is the name I've given to a conglomerate stone that didn't have a name other than "black conglomerate."  A conglomerate is a stone that's really a mish-mash of minerals with matrix in between. Picture the pebbles, sand, and mud in a stream bed solidifying permanently and you've got an idea of what conglomerate looks like. This conglomerate is really neat in that much of the rock in it is silicated, so it polishes well, with rich blacks, interesting greys and muted whites. To me it looks like what you'd see if you could swim through the earth's crust. Great for masculine jewelry. Unpolished backs. This is my entire stock.

Peanutwood

Yes, this is fossilized wood, all natural, from Australia. The dark areas range from dark brown to black, and the light areas are a creamy white, some with just a whisper of pink. This material is relatively rare and has been relatively difficult for me to obtain, so I hope you will be pleased with it. Click on the photos to see more detail. All pieces have satin-finish backs.
