pieces, so I am able to pass the savings on to you. BA131 $18.00

Peanutwood Yes, this is fossilized wood, all natural, from Australia. The dark areas range from dark brown to black, and the light areas are a creamy white, some with just a whisper of pink. This material is relatively rare and has been relatively difficult for me to obtain, so I hope you will be pleased with it. Please note: Some of these pieces are pillow-like in that they are thicker with rounded edges. I've included measurements of the thickness of these to help you in planning your designs. They are all strikingly beautiful. Click on the photos to see more detail.

White Plume Agate Doublets If you saw a slab of white plume agate at a rock shop, you'd probably pass it by--It looks like a mottled whiteish mass. But in the hands of master gem cutter Keith Horst, a miracle is wrought: By cutting super-thin slices of the stone, Keith uncovers its transparency and astounding depth of imagery. Then he permanently attaches each slice to black agate and the images burst forth in vivid relief. The slicing, cutting, shaping, and polishing are highly labor-intensive, ensuring that Keith won't be doing a whole lot of these, so if you choose one of these, you'll be getting a rare and unusual stone! Be sure to click on photos to get a closer look at these! Sorry, Sold Out! More Coming Soon!

Zebra Agate From India, these bold natural designs are fairly rare. Note that some of the pieces have little trails of glimmering crystals--icing on the cake! On all of these, the design continues onto the back, which is also polished. Please click on photos to enlarge to see detail.
Pin Stripe Agate For those interested in a more subtle "tailored" look, we now offer Pin Stripe Agate from Oregon. The contrast is more muted than in Zebra Agate, with thinner, more evenly-spaced lines of soft white and warm grey. Very Classy! These pieces are polished on both sides. Rutilated Quartz Doublets When I first laid eyes on these, I was riveted: They are incredibly striking, with shining gold rutiles contrasting against a black background. A master gem cutter makes cabochons from select pieces of rutilated quartz, and mounts them to slices of black "onyx" (dyed black agate). The rutiles catch the light as the stone moves--stunning! This is my entire supply, and though I've ordered more, they won't be available until later in the fall. One of a kind.
