Pietersite No one knows exactly where Pietersite comes from--they can't find the exact source where it was formed. Today relatively small quantities are found resting in pockets in the bottom of dry riverbeds in Namibia, in west Africa. I purchased these pieces directly from the miner, and spent hours sorting through thousands of stones to come up with the most spectacular colors and patterns to offer you. Note: a) Although
they're beautiful, these are also very hard and very tough stones. They'll last
up in most any jewelry application. ![]() Pietersite Namibia These photos show the stone turned top-to-bottom, with the light coming from different directions. 60.5 x 40.5 mm CH230 $270.00

Pietersite Sets More earring pairs on the way! Because of the great color variations in Pietersite, not all the earrings match all the pendants well. So, I matched some earring pairs to pendant pieces, and now you can either order them separately or save by purchasing them as a set (Note that the set is the third choice).
Blue Tiger's's Eye Blue Tiger's Eye is another name for "Hawk's Eye," probably to distinguish it from regular Tiger's Eye, which is gold-toned in color. The unusual stones shown here are really a mixture of both Tiger's's Eye and Hawk's Eye---In other words, they contain both blue and gold rutiles. A further unique touch is that in certain stones, the rutiles curve, and even sometimes bend. And in the most unusual ones, you can also see translucent silica, which is also a characteristic of Hawk's Eye. In some conditions, these stones look dark, but bring them into sunlight or halogen and gleaming bands of light travel across their surfaces as the stones are moved. What is most fun is that the technical description of Blue Tiger's Eye is "asbestiform crocidolite." Crocidolite! Pretty Cool! Satin-finish backs. Blue
