Next page: Druzy! Previous page: Chatoyants Pietersite No one knows exactly where Pietersite comes from--they can't find the exact source where it was formed. Today relatively small quantities are found resting in pockets in the bottom of dry riverbeds in Namibia, in west Africa. I purchased these pieces directly from the miner, and spent hours sorting through thousands of stones to come up with the most spectacular colors and patterns to offer you. Note: a) Although
they're beautiful, these are also very hard and very tough stones. They'll last
up in most any jewelry application.

Blue Pietersite Intermixed with the thousands of Pietersites I have pored over through the years, have been a small number of stones featuring blue and grey-blues, some offset with deep rust and black. Patiently, I built up a collection of these stunning, relatively-rare pieces, and now I have enough to open a special section for you. I show some of them with two different lighting sources to feature how their chatoyant areas change, so don't get confused: There is only one stone per item number, except for the earring pairs. Polished backs. CH306 $72.00
