Undrilled Large Druzy Cabs
I found these in a treasure trove of stones that Greg Genovese sent me. These are just another testament to Greg's creativity: The titanium's matte finish on the surface of the stones still shifts color as you move them, and perfectly frames the sparkling colors on the druzy crystals within. A soft, silken cord looped through the center hole makes each one an instant pendant, or, they can be bezel-set as well. These are not thick and heavy, so they will be easy to wear. Dark, satin-finish backs.

A note on undercut step backs: Draw a picture of a two-layer cake with the upper layer a bit smaller than the lower, like a wedding cake. Turn your image upside down and you'll have an idea of what an undercut step back looks like. Your bezel strip would fit around the smaller, lower step and you'd glue the stone in as well. The resulting effect would be that the stone would look like it's floating above the surface. You could also set the stone into a hole in your metal surface, and even cap the back if you'd like. The edges of these stones float free. Backs are not polished.

This druzy is darker than the Moonbeam Druzy, an almost gunmetal color, if you can picture gunmetal as shiny. The druzy crystals have lots of sparkle, so the effect is rich instead of merely "grey." Polished backs.

These all-new pieces are so lovely, with all the colors of the dawn sky. One dealer calls them dichroic, which is not exactly accurate, but it does refer to the color shift of these stones. The titanium coating makes the colors change from pastel blue to green to pink as you move the stone back and forth. The druzy crystals flash these colors as well. These are top-quality, and all have matte-black on the reverse. They all are undrilled. Aurora Druzy 31.5 x 24.5 mm ZC253 $120.00

Cobalt Blue Undrilled Druzy Pendants These pieces have huge flashing crystals that reflect back cobalt blue and deep purple, interspersed with sprinkles of bronze. They have beautifully beveled sides and smooth backs. They sparkle a lot more than the photos show.

I am so proud to be able to offer these absolutely gorgeous cabochons. Hand-selected, fine quartz druzy from Brazil is given a special iridescent coating of silica oxide and the result is an opalescent aqua stone with shimmers of pink and lavender, framing sparkling multicolored pastel druzy. Each freeform piece is unique. Many of these pieces have areas of translucence as well. These pieces were custom-made for Heart of Stone Studio, so you know you will be getting stones of breathtaking beauty. Note: All these pieces are not drilled. And while the druzy crystals show aqua blue in these photos, they actually are pastel-multicolored, with yellows and magentas as well. Please click on photos to get a better look. Glacier Blue coating goes all the way around the stones.

When I visited my druzy supplier at the show, I was blown away by the druzy pendants he was offering--These are of the quality that is rare even when dealing with expensive stones. All of these pieces are drilled through from side to side with a hole that can accommodate a 16-gauge (1.2mm) wire or cable. Bezel-setting the stones will easily cover up the holes, if that is desired. Each is one-of-a-kind. Note: All drilled Druzy Pendant purchases will come with a free sterling silver or gold-plated neckwire, making them instantly wearable!
Tropical Colors Titanium Drilled Druzy Pendants These lovelies are like sunlight on water--flashes of
gold, light green, and pink dominate the druzy crystals, framed by a polished
surface that grades from pink, to gold, to green, to teal, and then to blue. Special Value Tropical Sunrise Drilled Pendants Tropical Sunrise Titanium Druzy This piece is perfect except for a tiny blue mark on the polished surface on the lower right, probably due to some natural variation in the way the stone accepted the titanium coating. Hardly noticeable, yet it calls for a bit of a discount. 48 x 40.5mm ZL21 $144.00 Reg. $160.00

Fresh from their secret mine seam in Uruguay, these magnificent undrilled pieces are actually slices through stalagmite protrusions into geodes. They are polished on both sides, so both sides show the crystalline formations. The largest are clear quartz, while the rest are amazing amethyst. They will be a challenge to set, but well worth it! (As with all amethyst, keep out of direct sunlight so as to avoid fading of color). All are in the 5 to 7mm thick range, and flat on both sides. Quartz Starbursts:

From the same mine in Uruguay as the Starburst Stalagmite above, these are slices of amethyst crystals growing out of their agate matrix. To me, they look like flowers growing in a window box, hence the name. In addition, some of the agate is translucent quartz, further illustrating the play on the word "window." All of these are about 6mm thick and are polished on both sides, so you can reverse them if you like the pattern on the other side better. The bottom edge is left unpolished so that you can bezel-set them with a cap and hang them upside down. The price variations are based on size and fineness of the crystal formations.

Here's yet another variation on cutting, with lighter, more delicate crystals. Note: The sides of these are unpolished, to give bezel strips a better grip. Polished backs, though, making them reversible.
