Polish Flint Poland is home to beautiful Baltic Amber, and now we can offer another lovely stone from that country: Polish Flint. With its quiet swirling patterns in cream and taupe, this stone is very versatile. Some stones offer landscapes, while others are abstracts. Satin-finish or high-polish backs.

Moodscape Jasper I was immediately drawn to this stone at the Denver show and snatched up everything that I could. In person, these stones have a rich ochre accented by deep chocolate brown lines and deep grey-teal skies. The elegant simplicity of their lines, the beautiful combination of colors, and the dreamy landscapes portrayed in these stones will make wonderful, striking centerpieces in your jewelry designs. All these stones average about 4mm thick and have satin-finish backs. Click on photos to see details.

Misty Mountain Jasper This is the new rising star on this year's gemstone scene. Mined in Madagascar, it has a huge variance in the quality of its rough: Some material yields muted colors without any pattern; other material yields monochromatic line-drawings of receding hilltops against a taupe background (available at the bottom of this group). But the rarest form is the stunning polychrome material that you see here. Vivid burnt-orange mesas glow against a teal-blue sky filled with mauve clouds. You might see these colors in other places, but the combination of colors and landscape imagery makes these pieces really exceptional. Be sure to click on the photos to see these wonderful stones up close. Satin-finish backs.

I saw this latest batch of Willow Creek, cut by Merlin DeShaw, and I swooned at the unusual coloring: Instead of the soft yellows, greens, and browns usually associated with Willow Creek Jasper, these beauties are all decked out in Spring colors, crowned by lovely pinks. All Willow Creek has a tranquil, lyrical quality, but these rare colors are really special. Polished backs. Click on photos for a better look.

These are such lovely stones, with soft, smooth patterning. I had originally put them in landscapes because some of them looked like stylized hills, but they also qualify as abstract art. Polished both sides.
