Quick guide:

 1" = 25mm

1 dime= 18mm

Both coins: 42mm

As with printed photographs, the prevailing thought has been that a glossy surface makes the image "pop." Independent thinkers however, respond that maybe the "pop" is not always what they want. Instead, a softer, even more natural mood can be conveyed with a matte surface. And now we're finding that this can apply to stones as well. Not all stones lend themselves to this technique, but some emerge with a magical feel that would be lost in a high polish, and I'm offering some of them on this new page. Please note the sizes and thicknesses on these. Most are not as heavy as they first appear because they are not overly thick. All have backs that are finished the same as the fronts.
