Tranquil Garden

These cabochons, with their tiny internal crystals slowly growing over thousands of years, are accidental mimics of plant and landscape forms. They seem to emanate a soft, Zenlike internal tranquility. Any one of them would make a very special piece.

Two-Tone Imperial Jasper

Mined in Mexico, Imperial Jasper is worthy of its name: This lovely stone comes in quiet patterns in a variety of soft colors, from jasper red through pinky mauve, all the way to green. These different colors, of course, arise from the various compounds found in the stone.  Recently, I came across what I feel are really wonderful Imperials--stones cut from the meeting of two, sometimes three different colors. I thought they were so beautiful that I compiled this assembly of unusual Imperials, just for you. To give you the maximum selection, I am posting the entire collection.

Copper Cabs:

Kazakhstan Agate

These poetic stones were mined in Russia. They are cut thin so as to bring out the translucency of many of the pieces. This also makes them very lightweight for their size. They are agate, though, so they are still strong. Satin-finish backs.

Copper Cabs:

Black and white stones, especially those with branch-like dendrites and translucency, are Nature's gift to the artist wishing to evoke the beauties of the winter season. Here is a wonderful selection for your snow-covered designs:

Woodward Ranch Plume Agate

Dendritic Turkish Opal

These lovely snowy pieces are so lyrical, with an almost Oriental air. The whites are bright, creamy, and highly polished, and the velvety black dendrites show up in beautiful contrast. Many pieces have translucent areas, that show up in these photos as greyish in color. All are polished front, back, and sides.
