Tranquil Garden

These cabochons, with their tiny internal crystals slowly growing over thousands of years, are accidental mimics of plant and landscape forms. They seem to emanate a soft, Zenlike internal tranquility. Any one of them would make a very special piece.

Hurricane Starburst Jasper (aka Spider Jasper)

Years ago, lapidarist Gary Wilson introduced me to this stone, and he called it Hurricane Starburst Jasper. Other dealers call it by its more mundane name of Spider Jasper. You can call it what you want, but to me, the wonderful ochre-on-brown patterns resemble beautiful starbursts. Don't forget that you can click on the photos to enlarge them so you can see the details.

Hurricane Starburst Jasper    Mexico
These jumbo matching wings are spectacular. In the second photo, I paired them with a Fancy Jasper (R313 on our Reds page), just so you can see the effect. You will undoubtedly come up with a better design for them!  52 x 39mm, polished backs
TG111     $115.00 the pair

Biggs Jasper, Oregon

I hand-picked the slab from which these luscious cabs were cut. The dendrites emerge delicately from the creamy peachy-beige matrix, and the overall effect will complement a variety of colors.

Biggs Jasper Drilled Pendant
This lovely elongated drop is laterally drilled with a 2mm hole that will accept a 14-gauge wire.
38 x 13mm tubular teardrop with rounded sides (photos show both polished sides of piece)

Owyhee Canyon Jasper,  Idaho

Owyhee Canyon Jasper
This piece evokes Oriental brush paintings of cascading foliage. The main color is a bluish/green/grey found in a relatively small percentage of Owyhee Jaspers. 33 x 20mm half round

TG16   $22.50

Owyhee Jasper Drilled Pendant
43 x 15mm rounded teardrop 9.01 g

Lapidarist Gerry Galarneau custom-cut this spectacular, hefty pendant with rounded sides and an overall polish so it can be worn either side out. The 2mm laterally-drilled hole accepts a 14-gauge wire. Click on photos to see front, back and side of this unusual piece.

TG18  $42.50  SALE: $34.00

Dendritic Turkish Opal

These pieces are the cousins of the stunning stones on our Rare Finds page. These are lower in price either because they lack the translucent opal areas, or because their cuts are simpler. All are polished front, back, and sides.

36 x 21 mm

TG129    $44.00

Dendritic Turkish Opal   Turkey
This piece has the "branches in fog" translucency of the collector's items, only the cut is just a tad short of being a perfect rectangle. 32 x 21.5 mm

Dendritic Turkish Opal   Turkey
Another stunning stone, but the teardrop is freeform--not perfectly symmetrical. 37 x 23 mm
