Amber

Not really a mineral, this golden substance is properly characterized as "fossilized tree resin." Just think, the amber you see here once flowed through the living tissues of ancient pine trees that flourished in Eastern Europe almost 40 million years ago! And the fact that it was part of a living thing is evident when you hold it in your hand--it is smooth and warm to the touch. All of the amber offered here is genuine, and comes from the area around the Baltic sea. Baltic amber is often regarded as the finest amber in the world. The jewelry is all handcrafted by artisans in Gdansk, Poland; the settings are all fine sterling silver. The color variations, shining bursts from tiny chemical explosions, and bits of verdure trapped inside, are all part of the natural fossilization process and are what makes your piece unique.

Original Design Bracelet

The freeform amber bracelet (shown above) opens up so that you can put it on easily, then locks shut. This bold, elegant piece is a must-have for those who love modern jewelry design. The tubes forming the cuff are hollow so the piece is light weight and comfortable, even though the total width of the piece, including the amber, is an inch and a half. The bracelet fits medium to large wrists, and is hinged and closes with a locking tab. I have several of these in stock, and no two are alike, so some slight differences in color might occur in the amber of your piece, although the rest of the design will be identical to that in the pictures.  ET-B1 $160.00

Triangular "starburst" pendant

This lovely pendant is genuine amber from the Baltic Sea. It is hung (not glued) from a sterling silver bail. The chain, included, is also sterling silver. The piece was made by artisans in Gdansk, Poland, and measures 1-3/4" long with the bail. If you look closely, you can see that the amber contains "starbursts" that glimmer and catch the light with every movement. These aren't found in all amber, and I think that they give this piece an extra touch of beauty. Please note: This pendant looks larger than it really is, in the photo on the left--that's because the mannequin is only about half of life-size.  ET-PD3   $42.00

Necklace, Brooch

(Please click on the photo to better see these gorgeous pieces)

This amber brooch (shown in the center of the photo above) is a breathtaking original design in sterling silver, hand crafted by an artist in Gdansk, Poland.  Although it is large--2-1/8" wide and 1 3/8 inches tall--it is light weight because it is hollow, but it is not open in back--it is fabricated by the artist like a box with the amber in the middle. Even the pin and its clasp in the back are handmade. The amber is especially beautiful--honey clear with many striking starbursts. This is truly a one-of-a-kind fine art piece. I only have one of these, so if you love it, don't delay ordering! ET-PN3 $280.00  free shipping!

Shown surrounding the brooch in the above photo:  Amber and sterling necklace. This beautiful necklace also is a handcrafted piece, featuring an oval of amber nearly 2" long and 1/2" high whose tea color--shot through with many starbursts--contrasts nicely with the unusual sterling setting. It is suspended from an 18" handmade sterling chain. One of a kind.   ET-N1 $190.00
