Quartz!

Quartz crystals are perhaps the most famous New Age material. They are used for divination, for healing, for meditation, to clear living spaces of negative energy, and to channel positive energy. That last use is one that extends beyond the metalphysical into the realms of physics and communication--quartz crystals have been scientifically shown to transmit energy.  The clearer the crystal, it is said, the clearer the insight. Whether they are used as metaphysical tools or natural sculptures, these quartz specimens are top notch. Each is one-of-a-kind.

Top Quality "Fairyland" Quartz

The above photos are of one specimen. Hover cursor over photo to see caption; click on photo to enlarge.

I call this cluster "Fairyland Quartz" because it is a froth of hundreds of delicate, clear points held together with more gemmy material, and no matrix as is commonly seen in quartz specimens. The source of this unusual piece is a mine in Arkansas that is now closed. Therefore, I have only a few specimens of this top-quality material, and this piece is one of the least expensive. The crystals are extremely clear, with some silvery inclusions. The largest crystal is 2- 1/2" tall by 1/2" wide. Here are the dimensions: cluster length: 4- 1/2"; depth: 3- 1/4." This is a collector's quality specimen.  GM1002   $165.00  If cart button doesn't work, it means this piece has sold.

Clear Brazilian Quartz Cluster

The above photos are of one specimen. Hover cursor over photo to see caption; click on photo to enlarge.

This free-standing clear quartz cluster comes from Sao Paulo, Brazil.  It appears to be a "family grouping" of large, medium and small crystals all having a shared side. The largest crystal of this group is 3- 1/4" long. In addition, the cluster has a pair of two conjoined (soulmate) crystals; the largest one is 3- 1/2" tall and 1- 1/2" wide. Some of the larger crystals have "barnacles" or tiny crystals attached to their sides. The interiors of the crystals are interesting, including: light cloud phantoms, silvery inclusions, and rainbows, with a large rainbow within the lowest crystal. There also is an inner "cave" area studded with points, and a powdery sprinkling of sparkling "fairy dust" on the sides of the largest crystals. The matrix is shiny and gemmy. There are some very slight chips out of some terminations, but this doesn't detract from the overall clarity and quality of the specimen. This is a medium-sized piece: Height: 5", width: 3- 3/4"; depth: 3- 1/2"; weight: 2.2 lbs. In my estimation, it's a great value considering the size and clarity of the crystals.
