I first came across this stone a decade ago while wandering through the hot, dusty, outdoor miner's booths at the Tucson Gem Show. A handsome Australian couple mined this stone, and as I looked at the slabs they sold, I was immediately captivated by the mysterious, almost magical patterns of color in the best pieces--soft reds and greys, and muted mustard yellows ebbed and flowed through the stone. In later years, I was unable to locate them, but recently, I found this really lovely set of finished cabs and earring pairs. Mined in Australia. Satin backs.
