Lapidary master Keith Horst says this stone comes from the same area as Spiderman Jasper, but other than sharing a dark background, it bears no resemblance to the fine red webbing found in Spiderman. So I renamed it Thicket Jasper because it reminds me of a walk in a hayfield at night, with its golden strawlike imagery. It also calls to mind tree roots. This stone actually has a quite sophisticated abstract art feeling, and would do well in masculine jewelry. Cut by Keith Horst.
